WHAT IS KINGSWOOD TEN SING?
Kingswood Ten Sing is a youth performing arts group based in Kingswood, Bristol. We are part of Bath YMCA’s youth work programme. The YMCA helps young people develop in Body, Mind & Spirit. We believe that all young people have the right to stay safe, enjoy good physical and mental health, have things to do and places to go rather than hanging around the streets getting bored.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Mini Sing is for young people aged 7-11 and Ten Sing is for young people aged between 11 and 25 . Both projects are run by the young people themselves. They decide what activities they will do and in what direction the project will develop within the workshops of drama, dance and choir. There are qualified youth workers who support and train the young people to develop as responsible young leaders.
MUSIC
The music is of different styles from ballads, pop, rock, spiritual/ gospel to heavy metal – there is also work with soloists and choir. There is also potential to develop bands or music groups, drumming or individual performance – Young people decide……………
DANCE
Use your body to Express yourself. Ten Sing groups give opportunities for dancing in bigger or smaller groups and different styles from folk to hip hop.
DRAMA
Sketches, Pantomime, mime, small plays or Musicals are often used in Ten Sing Concerts.
ART & CREATIVITY
get involved in making posters, flyers, tickets, backdrops, sculpture and other aspects of stage design or promotion activities. Young people can use and develop ICT skills. We are currently developing Film making, Photography, Recording DVD’s and CD’s
FRIENDS
Ten Sing is a very social activity that wants to include young people from all social backgrounds with no obligation, no prejudices, just pure fun and friendship.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
We get involved in regular events like concerts, performances, busking, festivals, YMCA National Assembly, European Conferences, London Marathon, Walcott Nation Day, Greenbelt, Big Up Bristol, Carol Singing for Rotary, Christmas Carol Concerts, We’ve even sang in St Paul’s Cathedral and outside Buckingham Palace.

every Tuesday from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
